I am taking an astronomy course in college this season. I only required it I heard it had been , I’m thinking about it!
What exactly are some subjects I educate yourself on or learn about?

well, astronomy is a very broad topic so there are a lot of things you would want to know. but if there were one thing i would choose to read up on if i was taking the course, i would try to learn as much about stars as a could because stars are related to many phenomenon in our universe
i think it depends on what aspect of it you’re interested in.
How to Alien a telescope and where the different objects are at the different times of the year, plus how to use CCD cameras to take time laps photos and much more.
For university, you should know about the Big Bang Theory, how stars are formed, how our solar system was formed, and you may want to read about some notable astronomers and physicists like Galileo, Newton, Einstein, and Bohr. A very general knowledge of each of them would definitely be useful. Once you start reading into these topics, other related things should come up. But I think those are the most basic things you should know about when starting a university level course.
