One of the reasons that I love astronomy sometimes things we find understanding escape. For example, this edition of my image of the week column focuses on the recent Hubble images released. This image of NGC 4911 was compiled from 28 hours of observational data, spread over a period of three years. The image looks like it could have drawn a talented artist, but rather a very large, very real galaxies is approximately 320 million light-years from Earth. Really exciting.
NGC 4911 is part of a group of about Coma 1000 galaxies strewn around the massive spiral galaxy. After all, how galaxies pulled apart by his companions, the material of the spiral arms will be sucked into the center of the cluster, sparking a new star formation. As it happens in astronomical interactions, death is born. Enjoy the image of the week.
