Do you ever get emails from friends (or strangers in this matter) are incredibly tails hope humor or just nonsense? Of course, you. I get them all the time, and they quickly find their way into the Recycle Bin. Well apparently one such email, astronomical nature makes the rounds, and it definitely falls into the category of nonsense.
Actually had several options, but all are essentially allege that at the end of this month, the planet Mars will pass very close to the Earth. So close in fact that the red planet will appear approximately the size of the Moon: Yes, you read that correctly, there’s someone wants you to believe that around 27 August 2010 sky will appear to be two moons.
Of course it’s not an ounce of truth to this rumor. Now it’s true, Mars comes close to the ground every two years, and about every 16 years it gets very close but even in these cases, Mars appears much more or brighter.Only when looking through high powered telescope really you would notice the difference.
Last very close approach (35 million miles) took place on 27 August 2003. It would not close again until 2287, so if you missed it, this is your last chance.
